The list of authorized schools for the GIGA Initiative are now available.

In support of the recently announced GIGA School Initiative in Japan, Microsoft is launching a new Windows 10 Pro SKU for education. While this SKU and its S mode counterpart will technically belong to the Shape the Future Program family of Products known as National Academic only (NAO) Products, these 2 new SKUs will be called Windows 10 Pro (Japan EDU) and will be restricted for Distribution in and for Japan only. All Program requirements currently in place for the Shape the Future Program will apply to the Windows 10 Pro (Japan EDU) SKUs.

The Price List and Product Terms for the GIGA School Initiative (Japan EDU) is updated as follows:

  • The Windows® 11 Pro Strategic Japan (National Academic only) with Downgrade FR (OEM Activation 3.0 Required) will reach end of license on March 31 2024. The end of license date is the last day that the Product may be fulfilled or Distributed on a Customer System.
  • AT 9024 (Hardware Configuration Requirements) is updated with new storage requirement for no HDD boot after November 1, 2023.  This requirement is being added to align with current Window Hardware Configuration Requirements.
  • Windows 10 products have been removed from the price list as they are no longer available.
