Windows 10 will reach End of Support on October 14, 2025, less than two years from today. With so many customers who embraced Windows 10, we are seeing a large population that will reach the End of Support. This is an incredible opportunity to drive device refresh and Microsoft will continue to partner with you to help customers make that transition to new Windows 11 PCs.

Microsoft will begin to share information to help customers prepare and plan for a smooth transition to Windows 11 in a new post to the Windows IT Pro Blog on March 25, 2024.

What End of Support (EOS) means: When Windows 10 reaches end of support, Microsoft will no longer provide bug fixes for issues, security fixes for vulnerabilities, time zone updates, or technical support for problems that might occur. As noted on the Windows 10 release information page, version 22H2 is the final version of Windows 10. After October 14, 2025, you will no longer be permitted to sell Windows 10. All editions of Windows 10, version 22H2 will remain in support with monthly security updates through October 14, 2025. Note that the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise will continue to receive updates based on their specific lifecycles.

Introducing Extended Security Update (ESU) program for Windows 10

  • Devices enrolled in ESUs can receive monthly security updates, but no feature or other updates.
  • This option is designed to provide customers with peace of mind as they migrate to Windows 11 and identify Windows 10 PCs that need more time to transition.
  • To continue selling Windows 10, MAR partners are required to purchase ESU.
  • More information on the ESU program, including the special pricing for MAR partners, will be shared later.

Windows 10 End of Support provides an enormous opportunity to help migrate older and ineligible Windows 10 PCs to new, modern Windows 11 devices.
