Introduction

At launch, pricing was stratified pricing based on whether the host machine has a Microsoft operating system or “Qualified OS” (QOS), versus other operating systems or “Non-Qualified OS” (non-QOS). Market reaction was negative with the stratification of the QOS pricing versus that of non-QOS machines.

To address these concerns, Microsoft has flattened the pricing to bring parity between virtual installations on both QOS and non-QOS machines.
