Program Overview

Partners who demonstrate deep knowledge, extensive experience, and proven success in migrating Windows Server and SQL Server-based production workloads, and production workloads running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or SUSE virtual machines (and/or MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL databases in Microsoft Azure) may seek the Infra and Database Migration to Microsoft Azure specialization.

Workload migration presents partners with a unique opportunity to secure long-term cloud relationships with customers, which can lead to high-value, innovative managed services that open up new and recurring revenue streams. The Infra and Database Migration to Microsoft Azure specialization allows partners with an active Solutions Partner for Infrastructure (Azure) or Data & AI (Azure) designation to further differentiate their organizations, demonstrate their capabilities and expertise in migrating infrastructure & database workloads (including Linux VM's and open-source databases) to Azure, and build stronger connections with customers.

Partners who earn a specialization will have a customer-facing label displayed on their business profile, gain access to specific go-to-market programs, and be prioritized in customer searches in Microsoft AppSource. For these reasons, this opportunity is available only to partners who meet additional, stringent requirements.

How do I apply?

Only an MPN Account Administrator or a Global Administrator of an organization's Microsoft partner account can submit an application for the Infra and Database Migration to Microsoft Azure specialization on behalf of the organization. If you have the appropriate role and access, you can apply by signing into Partner Center and navigating to your Partner Center dashboard > Membership > Specializations.

What are the requirements?

Eligible partners must meet the highest standards for service delivery and support. All requirements will be verified by Microsoft and/or a third-party vendor, either automatically or by manual review, and are subject to change.

Your organization must have an active Solutions Partner for Data & AI (Azure) or Infrastructure (Azure) designation.

Details

Your organization must show customers migrating to Azure and meet the following requirements:

Infra ACR:
Your company must show a total of at least $30,000 of Azure Consumed Revenue (ACR) from Windows Server Virtual Machine (VM) in the previous three (3) months from at least three (3) customers.

OR

Your company must show a total of at least $15,000 of Azure Consumed Revenue (ACR) from Linux Virtual Machines (VM) in the previous three (3) months from at least three (3) customers.

AND

Database ACR:
Your company must also show a total of at least $9,000 of Azure Consumed Revenue (ACR) from SQL Managed Instance (MI), SQL Database (DB), SQL VM in the previous three (3) months from at least three (3) customers, and at least $3,000 of that total must come from SQL MI or SQL DB.

OR

Your company must also show a total of $4,500 of Azure Consumed Revenue (ACR) in the previous three (3) months from at least three (3) customers from any, or a combination of, these databases:

  • Azure Database (DB) for MariaDB
  • Azure DB for MySQL
  • Azure DB for PostgreSQL
  • Azure Cosmos DB

Eligible Association Type: Digital Partner of Record, Partner Admin Link and CSP Tier1, CSP Tier 2

Your organization must have four (4) or more unique individuals pass at least one of the following certifications (one certification from each of the four certification groups listed below must be held by at least one individual)


*This certification is retired on March 31, 2025. If completed before retirement, it will remain valid for one year.
